Sakae Kobayashi is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Yuki in Ibaraki Prefecture. Born in Koga, Ibaraki, he graduated from the Meiji University Faculty of Law and previously worked as a judicial scrivener, heading his own office starting in 1984. Before his election as mayor, he was active in local business and legal organizations, including serving as the vice-chairman of the Ibaraki Judicial Scrivener Association. After several unsuccessful bids for the Ibaraki Prefectural Assembly and the Yuki mayoral office, he was first elected mayor in 2019 and subsequently re-elected in 2023.
