Sali Berisha

Sali Berisha is an Albanian politician and former cardiologist who currently serves as a Member of Parliament and leader of the opposition. He previously served as the President of Albania from 1992 to 1997 and as the 32nd Prime Minister of Albania from 2005 to 2013. A central figure in Albanian politics since the fall of communism, Berisha has led the Democratic Party of Albania during multiple periods. His career has been marked by significant economic reforms, the country's integration into Western institutions, and intense political polarization. He remains a prominent, albeit controversial, political leader in Albania.
