Sam Carling is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for North West Cambridgeshire since 2024. Born in 2002, he holds the distinction of being the first British parliamentarian born in the 21st century and, upon his election at age 22, became the 'Baby of the House.' Prior to his parliamentary career, Carling served as a councillor for the West Chesterton ward on Cambridge City Council from 2022 to 2025. An alumnus of the University of Cambridge, where he studied natural sciences, he has focused his political efforts on public services, education, and transport. In May 2026, he publicly called for the resignation of Prime Minister Keir Starmer following poor local election results for the Labour Party.
