Samir Kumar Jana is an Indian politician currently serving as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly representing the Patharpratima constituency. A member of the All India Trinamool Congress, he was first elected to the assembly in 2011 and has successfully retained his seat in subsequent elections, including the 2021 polls. Before entering active politics, Jana worked as a teacher. He holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Calcutta, which he completed in 1986.
