Sander Schelberg

Sander Schelberg is a Dutch politician and public administrator who has served as the Mayor of Hengelo since October 2012. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), he previously held mayoral positions in Schermer and Teylingen. Before his career in local government, he worked as a policy advisor for the Association of Netherlands Municipalities and held various roles at the Ministry of the Interior. Schelberg, who studied public administration at the Enschede University of Applied Sciences and Leiden University, is also known for his past leadership in the National Organization of Police Volunteers.
