Jan van Zanen

Jan van Zanen is a Dutch politician who has served as the Mayor of The Hague since July 1, 2020. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), he previously held the position of Mayor of Utrecht from 2014 to 2020 and Mayor of Amstelveen from 2005 to 2013. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent figure in local governance, serving as the national chairman of the VVD and as president of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG). He is recognized for his contributions to international relations and has received numerous honors, including the Legion of Honour from France and the Order of the Rising Sun from Japan.
