Sarahana Shrestha

Sarahana Shrestha is an American politician and activist serving as a member of the New York State Assembly for the 103rd district. Born in Kathmandu, Nepal, she moved to the United States in 2001 and later became a citizen in 2019. Before her election in 2022, she worked as a graphic designer and was active in climate advocacy and socialist politics. Shrestha is known for her focus on renewable energy policy, advocating for the transition of utility companies into public authorities, and supporting single-payer healthcare and housing protections.
