Satoshi Umemura is a Japanese politician and physician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives for Osaka's 5th district. A graduate of Osaka University Medical School, he previously worked as a physician before entering national politics. He served two terms in the House of Councillors, where he held the position of Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare under the Noda Cabinet.
