Sean D. Cleary

Sean D. Cleary is an American economist and politician currently serving as a member of the North Dakota Senate representing the 35th District. A Bismarck native, he holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Mary and a Master’s in Applied Economics from the University of North Dakota. His professional background includes roles as a project manager for the National Information Solutions Cooperative and as a staffer for U.S. Senator John Hoeven and Governor Doug Burgum. In the legislature, Cleary has focused on healthcare affordability, including successful efforts to cap insulin costs, and has advocated for the strategic growth and transparency of the state's Legacy Fund, including proposals to divest from Chinese-owned companies.
