Sebastian Schmitt is a German politician and a member of the Landtag of Saarland, representing the Social Democratic Party (SPD). Born in 1988, he studied political science and public law at the University of Trier, as well as administrative sciences in Speyer and Tallinn. Prior to his parliamentary career, he worked in the Saarland Ministry for Economy, Labour, Energy and Transport. Schmitt has been active in local politics in Beckingen since 2007, serving as a member of the municipal council and as a local party leader. He was elected to the Saarland state parliament in 2022.
