Sem Moema

Sem Moema is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the London Assembly Member for North East London since 2021. Born in Islington to South African parents, she previously served as a councillor for the Hackney Downs ward on Hackney Council, where she focused on housing affordability and private sector rental licensing. In her role on the London Assembly, she chairs the housing committee and has successfully campaigned for national policy changes regarding housing benefits and the abolition of Section 21 no-fault evictions.
