Serdal Benli

Serdal Benli is a Danish politician serving as the Mayor of Gladsaxe since January 1, 2026, becoming the first mayor in Denmark with a minority background. A member of the Socialist People's Party (SF), he previously served as a member of the regional council in the Capital Region, a city council member in Gladsaxe, and as a national auditor. Benli, who immigrated to Denmark from Turkey in 1988, holds a master's degree in social science and communication from Roskilde University. Throughout his career, he has focused on local government, education, and social policy, including humanitarian efforts during the Ukraine crisis.
