Seyran Ohanyan is an Armenian military officer and politician currently serving as a member of the National Assembly of Armenia and head of the Armenia Alliance parliamentary bloc. A veteran of the Nagorno-Karabakh wars, he previously served as the Minister of Defence of Armenia from 2008 to 2016 and as the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Artsakh from 1999 to 2007. Throughout his career, he has held high-ranking military positions, including Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces. Following his departure from the cabinet, he transitioned into opposition politics, participating in parliamentary elections and vocalizing criticism of the current government's policies regarding national security and border integrity.
