Shozo Fukumoto is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Shiso in Hyogo Prefecture. Born in 1953 in the town of Yamazaki (now part of Shiso), he began his career as a local government official in 1972. Following the merger of several towns to form Shiso City in 2005, he held various administrative roles, including Director of the Board of Education and Director of the Ichinomiya Citizen Bureau, before retiring from the municipal office in 2012. He was first elected mayor in 2013 as an independent candidate and has since secured four consecutive terms, including a re-election by acclamation in 2021.
