平谷祐宏

Yuko Hiratani is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture. Born in 1953, he began his career as a school teacher before transitioning into educational administration, eventually serving as the Superintendent of the Onomichi City Board of Education. He was first elected mayor in 2007 and has since secured five consecutive terms in office. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on municipal management, including implementing fiscal measures such as salary reductions for city officials during the COVID-19 pandemic to secure funding for public health initiatives.
