Shane King is an Australian politician who has served as the Labor member for the electoral district of Kurwongbah in the Legislative Assembly of Queensland since 2015. Before entering politics, he worked extensively in the electricity supply industry as an electrical fitter mechanic and spent time working in remote Western Australia for Rio Tinto. King holds qualifications in occupational health and hygiene, as well as frontline management and training. Throughout his parliamentary career, he has chaired several committees, including those focused on utilities, science, innovation, and transportation, and has been a long-time workplace delegate for the Electrical Trades Union.
