Shawn Chauncey

Shawn Chauncey is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Kansas House of Representatives for the 65th district, having assumed office in 2024. Born and raised on a ranch in South Dakota, he spent 27 years working as a construction contractor in Junction City, Kansas, prior to his entry into politics. Chauncey ran on a platform emphasizing the implementation of term limits and criticized his predecessor for holding dual roles in local government. He secured his seat by defeating incumbent Jeff Underhill in the primary and subsequently winning the general election against Democratic challenger Lorraine M. Ceniceros.
