Shelly L. Hettleman is an American politician serving as a member of the Maryland Senate representing District 11 since 2020. Previously, she served in the Maryland House of Delegates from 2015 to 2020. Throughout her legislative career, Hettleman has focused on reproductive rights, education reform, labor protections, and criminal justice, including legislation to improve the testing of rape kits. A member of the Democratic Party, she has been a delegate to multiple Democratic National Conventions and currently serves as the chair of the Senate Rules Committee.
