Shinei Tome is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Itoman City in Okinawa Prefecture. Born in Itoman, he previously worked in his family's tatami business before entering local politics. He served two terms as a member of the Itoman City Council starting in 2013. In 2020, he was elected as Mayor of Itoman, defeating the incumbent, and was subsequently re-elected in 2024. During his tenure, he has focused on municipal administration, including implementing salary reductions for city officials to fund COVID-19 countermeasures.
