Shinji Nagatomo is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Miyazaki City, he graduated from Waseda University's Faculty of Law. Before entering politics, he worked as a magazine reporter and in content production, later serving as the center director for the Himuka-Biz industrial support center in Hyuga City, where he focused on regional revitalization and support for small and medium-sized enterprises. He also served as vice-chairman of the NPO Food Bank Hyuga. Nagatomo was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2021 through the proportional representation block and secured his seat in the 2026 general election by winning his constituency directly.
