Shinobu Oyama is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Yashio in Saitama Prefecture. Born in Yashio in 1957, he graduated from Seikei University before working at the machinery manufacturer Amada and later serving as a secretary to a national parliamentarian for twelve years. He entered local politics in 2000, serving four consecutive terms as a member of the Saitama Prefectural Assembly. In 2013, he was first elected as the Mayor of Yashio and has since been re-elected multiple times, continuing his focus on local development and municipal administration.
