Masayoshi Shintani is a Japanese politician and medical doctor serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Higashihiroshima, he graduated from the Teikyo University School of Medicine and later studied at the University of Tokyo. Before entering national politics, he worked as a physician and served as a hospital director. Throughout his parliamentary career, he has held significant positions including State Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare. Shintani focuses on regional medical care, disaster prevention, and social welfare reform, advocating for the integration of hardware infrastructure and community awareness in disaster management.
