Shivanand Patil

Shivanand Patil is an Indian politician currently serving as a Cabinet Minister in the Government of Karnataka and as a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly representing the Basavana Bagevadi constituency. Throughout his career, he has held various positions, including serving as a minister in the second H. D. Kumaraswamy ministry and as chairman of the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board. Patil has been involved in state politics since the 1990s, previously representing the Tikota constituency while affiliated with the Janata Dal and the Bharatiya Janata Party before joining the Congress. He has occasionally faced public controversy, notably regarding his remarks on farmer suicide compensation policies in Karnataka.
