Shogo Mitsui is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Uto City in Kumamoto Prefecture. Born in 1971, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Fukuoka University. Mitsui spent much of his career as a civil servant within the Uto City government, joining in 1993 and serving in various leadership roles including head of the Urban Development, Finance, and General Affairs divisions. He served as Deputy Mayor starting in April 2025 before being elected unopposed as Mayor in March 2026. In his administration, he has prioritized the implementation of child-rearing support policies.
