Sibel Arslan is a Swiss lawyer and politician of Kurdish Alevi origin who serves as a member of the National Council of Switzerland. Born in Turkey, she immigrated to Switzerland in 1991 and later became a citizen. Before her federal election in 2015, she served on the Grand Council of Basel-Stadt for over a decade. Arslan is a member of the Green Party and is known for her advocacy on women's rights, same-sex marriage, and foreign policy. She also represents Switzerland at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
