Simone Borris

Simone Borris is a German politician who has served as the Lord Mayor of Magdeburg since July 2022. An independent candidate, she made history as the first woman to hold the office and the first non-SPD candidate to lead the city since 1990. Before her election, she worked in the city administration for over three decades, eventually serving as the Deputy Mayor for Social Affairs, Youth, and Health. Borris is also a member of the main committee of the Association of German Cities.
