Situmbeko Musokotwane is a Zambian politician and economist currently serving as the Minister of Finance and National Planning, a position he has held since 2021. He previously served as Minister of Finance from 2008 to 2011 under President Rupiah Banda. A PhD holder in Monetary Economics from Konstanz University, he has extensive experience in international finance, having acted as an alternate governor for the IMF, the African Development Bank, and the World Bank. Throughout his career, he has been a key advocate for economic reform in Zambia, notably introducing open market operations and treasury bill auctions to the central bank. He has represented the Liuwa constituency in the National Assembly since 2011.
