Sjoerd Sjoerdsma

Sjoerd Sjoerdsma is a Dutch diplomat and politician serving as the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation in the Jetten cabinet since 2026. Previously, he served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2012 to 2023, where he acted as his party's spokesperson for foreign affairs. Before his parliamentary career, he worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including postings in Afghanistan and the Palestinian territories. Sjoerdsma is known for his vocal stance on human rights, particularly regarding China's policies in Xinjiang, and his strong support for Ukraine.
