Sofia Firdous is an Indian politician and a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly representing the Barabati-Cuttack constituency. Born in 1991, she is a civil engineering graduate from KIIT University and holds an Executive General Management Program certificate from IIM Bangalore. Before entering politics, she was a successful entrepreneur and served as the President of the CREDAI Bhubaneswar Chapter. She made history as the first Muslim woman elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly in 2024. Although she was elected as a candidate for the Indian National Congress, she was expelled from the party in March 2026 for cross-voting in a Rajya Sabha election.
