Soledad Chapetón Tancara

Soledad Chapetón Tancara is a Bolivian pedagogue and politician who served as the first female mayor of the city of El Alto from 2015 to 2021. A member of the National Unity party, she began her political career as a member of the 2006 Constituent Assembly. Throughout her tenure as mayor, she focused on administrative reforms and initiated legal proceedings against her predecessors for alleged corruption. Following her term, she has faced various legal challenges regarding the management of municipal funds during her administration.
