Stephanie McLean is a Canadian lawyer and politician currently serving as a Member of the House of Commons for the riding of Esquimalt—Saanich—Sooke and as the Secretary of State for Seniors. Previously, she served in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, where she made history as the first MLA to give birth while in office, an event that prompted significant legislative reforms regarding maternity leave for elected officials. During her time in Alberta, she also held cabinet positions including Minister of Status of Women and Minister of Service Alberta. She is a graduate of the University of Calgary's law school.
