Jamie Moses is a Canadian politician serving as the Minister of Economic Development, Investment and Trade and Minister of Natural Resources for Manitoba. Since 2019, he has represented the St. Vital electoral district in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba. A member of the Manitoba New Democratic Party, Moses made history as one of the first three Black Canadian MLAs elected in the province. Before entering politics, he worked in the private sector for companies including Investors Group and Rapid RTC, and he is a former university athlete. During his legislative tenure, he successfully introduced the Emancipation Day Act, which was passed unanimously to recognize August 1 as Emancipation Day in Manitoba.
