
Bernadette Smith

Bernadette Smith is a Canadian politician and activist who has served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba for the electoral district of Point Douglas since 2017. Anishinaabe and Métis, she is widely recognized for her advocacy regarding missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, having co-founded the Drag the Red Initiative. Before entering provincial politics, she worked as a teacher at Maples Collegiate and as an assistant director for the WayFinders Program. In 2023, she was named to the BBC's 100 Women list for her ongoing community leadership and commitment to social justice.
