Stephen Wooden

Stephen Wooden is an American politician serving as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives for the 81st district, having been elected in 2024. Prior to his state-level service, he was a Kent County Commissioner from 2019 to 2024, where he served as minority vice-chair and focused on affordable housing and federal fund allocation. A graduate of Michigan State University, Wooden previously worked as a legislative aide and in the nonprofit sector for Dwelling Place of Grand Rapids. His political career is rooted in a commitment to public service and local community development.
