Steve Cohen

Steve Cohen is an American attorney and politician who has served as the U.S. Representative for Tennessee's 9th congressional district since 2007. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served in the Tennessee Senate for 24 years, where he was instrumental in establishing the state lottery to fund education. Known for his progressive views, Cohen has focused on issues such as healthcare access, animal rights, and civil rights. He is the first Jewish person to represent Tennessee in Congress and has consistently advocated for social and economic reforms throughout his long career in public service.
