Stretch Kontelj

Stretch Kontelj is an Australian politician and lawyer currently serving as the Mayor of the City of Greater Geelong. A long-standing member of the Liberal Party, he previously served on the Greater Geelong City Council from 1998 to 2015, including terms as Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Beyond his political career, Kontelj is a qualified lawyer who has held various legal roles, including Group General Counsel for Bailey Nelson, and has served as an Honorary Consul for the Republic of Slovenia. He was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2001 for his community service.
