Stuart James

Stuart James is an Australian politician currently serving as the Mayor of the City of Monash, a position he has held for multiple terms including 2019-2020, 2021-2022, and 2025-2026. First elected as a Councillor for the City of Monash in 2016, he has been re-elected in 2020 and 2024. Beyond his local government duties, he serves as the Deputy President of the Municipal Association of Victoria and holds board positions with the Australian Local Government Association and the Alliance for Gambling Reform. A dedicated advocate for public transport, he previously chaired the Eastern Transport Coalition and served on the executive of the Public Transport Users Association.
