Stuart Smith

Stuart Smith is a New Zealand politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for the Kaikōura electorate since 2014. A member of the National Party, he currently serves as the Senior Whip and Chief Government Whip. Before entering politics, Smith was a Marlborough grape grower and served as the chair of the New Zealand Winegrowers Association. Throughout his parliamentary career, he has held various spokesperson portfolios and has been a proponent of legislative reforms, including those related to the wine industry and insurance claims. He has also voted in favor of social issues such as the decriminalization of abortion and the legalization of euthanasia.
