Sumana Shrestha

Sumana Shrestha is a Nepalese politician and current member of the House of Representatives of Nepal. A former Minister of Education, Science and Technology, she was elected to parliament in 2022. Shrestha is a management consultant by profession and holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Throughout her tenure, she has been a vocal advocate for legislative reforms, including the implementation of a mandatory parliamentary calendar and the introduction of a 'Bill Hackathon' to increase public participation in lawmaking. She previously served in the Rastriya Swatantra Party before resigning in 2025 due to concerns regarding internal party democracy and accountability.
