Sumio Kimura is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Satte City in Saitama Prefecture. Born in Goka, Ibaraki Prefecture, he graduated from Rikkyo University and worked for Japan Mining and later as an executive at Japaren. He served as an assistant mayor for Satte City before working as an administrative manager at the Saitama Saiseikai Kurihashi Hospital. After an unsuccessful bid in 2015, he was first elected mayor in 2019 and subsequently re-elected in 2023. A former judo practitioner who competed at the national level, Kimura has focused his administration on local infrastructure improvements, including the restoration of the city's community bus service.
