Sumiyuki Shimohira is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Shibushi City in Kagoshima Prefecture. Born in 1949, he began his career as a local government official in the former Shibushi Town office, where he served in various administrative roles before the town's merger. After serving two terms as a member of the Shibushi City Council, he was elected mayor in 2018 and has since secured re-election, most recently winning his third term in 2026. He is an administrative scrivener by profession.
