Mikio Mizukami is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Katsuyama in Fukui Prefecture. Born in 1959, he graduated from Kyoto Gakuen University (now Kyoto University of Advanced Science) and began his career as a civil servant in the Katsuyama City government in 1982. Over his long tenure in local administration, he served as the Director of the Planning and Finance Department and the Director of the Commerce, Industry, and Tourism Department before becoming Deputy Mayor in 2019. He was first elected as Mayor in 2020 with the support of the Liberal Democratic Party and Komeito, and he successfully secured re-election in 2024.
