Hideo Yoritaka is a Japanese politician currently serving his fifth term as the Mayor of Warabi in Saitama Prefecture. Born in Warabi in 1963, he graduated from Saitama University before beginning his political career as a member of the Warabi City Council, where he served for three terms. Although he was affiliated with the Japanese Communist Party during his time as a council member, he has run for mayoral office as an independent candidate supported by local civic groups. Since his first election as mayor in 2007, Yoritaka has focused on municipal administration, including urban redevelopment projects and local welfare initiatives. He is known for his long-standing tenure and his efforts to implement fiscal measures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
