Surajit Mitra

Surajit Mitra is an Indian politician currently serving as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly representing the Basirhat Dakshin constituency. A member of the All India Trinamool Congress, he was elected to the assembly in 2026 after defeating his nearest rival from the Bharatiya Janata Party. Outside of his political career, Mitra works as an accountant at Basirhat College and manages his own business. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Basirhat College, affiliated with the University of Calcutta.
