Susan Rubio is an American politician currently serving as a member of the California State Senate, representing the 22nd District. Born in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, she immigrated to the United States as a child and later became a public school teacher for 17 years before entering politics. Rubio served on the Baldwin Park City Council prior to her election to the State Senate in 2018. She is known for her legislative work on domestic violence prevention, including the passage of the Phoenix Act, and serves as the chair of the Senate Insurance Committee.
