Tony Strickland

Tony Strickland is an American politician currently serving as a member of the California State Senate representing the 36th district. A member of the Republican Party, he has held various elected offices throughout his career, including serving as a California state assemblyman from 1998 to 2004, a state senator representing the 19th district from 2008 to 2012, and as a member of the Huntington Beach City Council, where he also served as mayor from 2022 to 2023. Strickland is known for his staunch opposition to state-mandated housing developments and his work as a political consultant and advocate. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Whittier College.
