Sylvia Luke is an American politician who served as the 16th Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii from 2022 to 2026. Born in South Korea, she immigrated to Hawaii as a child and later served for 24 years in the Hawaii House of Representatives, where she became the first woman to chair the House Finance Committee. During her tenure as Lieutenant Governor, she launched the Ready Keiki initiative to expand preschool access and managed disaster relief efforts during the 2023 Hawaii wildfires. She withdrew her candidacy for reelection in April 2026 following campaign finance controversies.
