Tülay Hatimoğulları Oruç

Tülay Hatimoğulları Oruç is a Turkish politician and economist currently serving as a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and as co-chair of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party. Born in Samandağ, she is an advocate for linguistic rights and minority protections, drawing on her background as an Arab Alawite. Throughout her career, she has been a vocal proponent of democratic confederalism and has consistently campaigned for the rights of marginalized communities, including the Kurdish population in Turkey. She previously served as a co-chair of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (SYKP) and has been a prominent figure in the HDP, where she focused on religious and faith-based commission work.
