Taido Tanose is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Gojo, Nara, he is the son of former LDP politician Ryotaro Tanose. After graduating from Waseda University, he worked as a secretary for his father before entering politics. He has held various government positions, including Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Cabinet Office and Reconstruction. Tanose is known for his focus on forestry policy, regional revitalization, and the promotion of capital function relocation. He has been a member of the Liberal Democratic Party throughout his career, with a brief period as an independent following a 2021 controversy involving visits to restaurants during a state of emergency, after which he was reinstated into the party.
