Profile

Taisuke Nakamura is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the Nagasaki Prefectural Assembly. Born in 1980 in Nagasaki, he holds a degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Kyushu University. Before entering politics, he worked as a train driver for JR Central and as an engineer for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, where he specialized in offshore wind power. Motivated by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake to pursue energy policy reform, he was first elected to the prefectural assembly in 2019. His political platform focuses on the 'Nagasaki Marine Industry City Concept,' which aims to revitalize the local economy through offshore wind energy, maritime infrastructure development, and the promotion of the defense and pharmaceutical industries to combat regional population decline.
